“Otherwise,
drums are roaming, hearts are beating, and we are all having a
great time!”
- We want to become better at presenting our organisation, its
objectives and ourselves in an international context.
- I am going to meet my father. He is selling biscuits and candy
in the streets of Mumbai. I have not seen him for nine months. I
don’t know if he lives near WSF, and it is my first time out of
Nepal, but I would like to see him.
- I want to put Nepali women’s issues on the international agenda.
- I want to meet people and other organisations and see how they
work in different contexts.
- If I get the time, I would like to do some shopping, I want to
buy something for my family.
…The intentions and dreams were many when 16 people in various
ways associated with MS Nepal – as development workers, programme
officers, members of partner organisations and so forth – set out
from the train station in Lucknow to participate in World Social
Forum 2004 in Bombay, India.

The Nepalese forum theatre troupe Aarohan began performing in the
train on the way to Bombay and later staged more performances
during the world social meet.
