We said farewell to...
Ib Schou ,
the grand old man with beautiful silver-hair, whose contribution
to the promotion of MS Nepal’s information activities remained
more than commendable. He has many friends in Nepal, especially in
information sector, who remember him very much and appreciate his
agility and his innovative ideas. Ib resigned as Info. DW prior to
the expiry of his contract for special reasons.
Stine Hoier
(NEWAH), her husband Maarten Thiels (Seeds Cooperative) and
their little daughter Anna. Stine served as sanitation
engineer, while Maarten, whose spoken Nepali was near to perfect,
worked as forestry engineer. They served in Nepal for about three
years.
Hans Toft Nielsen
and Nina Lauritzen (both DCRDC), and children Anne
Katrine and Jakob .
Nina worked as Community Development Advisor, while Hans Served as
Irrigation and water supply engineer with the partner
organizations for about three years. Besides their regular job,
Nina and Hans significantly contributed to the “Democracy by
Women” programme under which eight Nepalese women representing
five MS Partner organizations are visiting Denmark soon with the
objective of getting an insight into the Danish perception of
democracy, and gender and rights issues.
Rita Tisdal,
who worked with BPEP, Kaski and some other
local NGOs involved in issues related to special needs education,
as special need education advisor for about 3.5 years. She also
served as a member of the Disability working group. We also said
good bye to her children Theo and Neema.
Palle
and Jytte Westh, who were posted to Dhankuta to work as
special needs education advisors at District Education office,
Dhankuta and Jhapa for about 3.5 years.
Connie Fuglsang and Neils
Moeller, who worked with DEO in
Kaski as special needs education advisor (Connie) and building
maintenance advisor (Neils). Connie also served as a member of the
Pluralism working group, while Neils had contributed as a member
of the Training group. We said good bye to their daughter Ida
also. When Ida spoke Nepali one could be confused whether she is a
Danish or a Nepali child.
A special farewell to Jonna Rives and a warm
welcome to Siegfried Chriestiansen
Our Administrator since 1997,
Jonna Rives is leaving us at the end of August to work with
the Personnel Department in MS-Denmark. We are sure that Jonna and
her husband Patrick will carry with them the warm feelings
we shared while working together in Nepal and will allow the sweet
memory of Nepal CO and the staff to remain in a corner of their
hearts.
Siegfried,
our new Administrator arrived here together with the New group of
DWs in the beginning of this month. After a week of ICOC Sigi took
up his assignment at the CO. He joined MS in 1982 as a staff
member in the Development Education section in MS-Denmark, and has
already earned valuable experience of working in developing
countries. He has already served in Botswana and Kenya in
different capacities before coming to Nepal as an administrator.
We are looking forward to some exciting years to come. A warm
welcome to Sigi and his wife, who is yet to arrive here.
