Welcome to...
Since
April 1999 MS-Nepal hasn’t received new DWs and this is why we are
looking very much forward to welcoming the next group 2/2000, who
are expected to arrive by mid- April 2000.
From mid October 1999 our new Programme Officer, Mrs. Kesang
Renchen, former PAB-member for the partner organisation Norbu
Lingka.. Kesang will take over the work from Pushpa Singh. We are
all looking very much forward to our future cooperation with
Kesang.
We
said goodbye to…
In
August we said goodbye to the next ‘Grand Old Man’ in the MS-Nepal
Programme. Mr. Kurt Nielsen left Nepal to take up a new assignment
as Danida Advisor in Namibia. Kurt has been working as advisor for
Vocational Training and Community Development (VTCD) Project since
November 1995. He is accompanied by his wife, Anastassia Nielsen,
and children Bertram and Mischa.
Bo and
Gudrun Sarauw, assigned as Community Development Advisors with the
Vocational Training and Development (VTCD) Rural Training Center
in Simpani left Nepal to go back to Denmark end of October 1999.
Finally a special goodbye to Programme Officer, Mrs. Pushpa Singh.
Pushpa was assigned as Secretary from 1 March 1994 to end of
February 1996, where she got the job as Programme Officer with
MS-Nepal.
Pushpa
has left Nepal to go to United States for further education at the
University.
Another special goodbye to Mrs. Mira Sharma , former known as Miss
Mira Dhakal. Mira has been working as Receptionist since October
1996 and is now assigned as Executive Secretary with WHO.
The
best of luck to all of them.
Extensions
In the
last issue of Ekchhin it was mentioned that Stig Allan Schmidt,
School Maintenance Advisor with Basic Primary Education Programme
(BPEP) had extended his contract in Chitwan district. Not only had
he done this, but now he has extended his contract once more, this
time to go to Surkhet.
Country Office and MS Guest House
The
past weeks the Country Office painters have been busy painting the
Country Office. With the change of coffee room and accounts
section plus of number of other changes we find, that the office
environment has improved a lot. Likewise the MS Guest House has
been painted and repaired.
Exhibition space in the Country Office
The
Country Office can now offer exhibition space in the ground floor
in the office – we have purchased 8 big frames and 2 smaller.
Size: 26,5 x 34,5 inches (big frames) and 19,5 x 27 inches (small
frames). The first exhibition will be with photos by Development
Worker Mrs. Susanne Rystok.
Our
idea is for partner organisations, Development workers or others
to use this opportunity to show something of Nepal, of their daily
work, cultural exhibitions, drawings, paintings, photos etc. The
Exhibition Committee is consisting of Development Worker Ib Schou
and In-house translator Binay Dhital.
