Big thanks to God and KSSC

Triyogi Lal Kori was one of the first Ukhada farmers in Kapilvastu who received legal proof of his landownership by the help of Kalika Self-Reliance Center (KSSC). After 40 years of struggling with his land lord he finally succeeded in obtaining the right to the soil he and his father have worked in for many years.

“I received a letter from KSSC telling me that I was going to be hakim (boss) of my own land. I brought my proof to the ‘Ukhada’ office at KSSC and took a copy. I left my document at the office and KSSC sent the copy to the land office. Within one month my case was handled. I am very happy. I would like to thank ALL,!” says Triyogi Lal Kori with a big smile.

He and his wife, and their 12 year s old son live in Gotihawa VDC. In his area he was the last one to have his case finished. All his neighbours had finished their process of obtaining land from their land lords after the Ukhada court opened in 2021 B.S. To Triyogi Lal Kori, who also works as a laborer, it means a lot to finally become the legal owner of his land: “Now I have land and I am a land lord myself. It gives me financial security. If I urgently need some money I can just go and make a deposit in the bank and take a loan. If I sell my land it will bring me about 20000 rupees.
