The Human Rights Organization of Nepal (HURON) |
|
Sustainability
Since its establishment in 1988 the members of HURON see it more
as a movement than an organization. HURON has upto date 25000
members nationwide and financially has depended on the membership
fee. HURON seeks external funding occasionally and is not
completely reliant on external support. The organization has a
strong and broad base of human resource covering a range of policy
makers to grassroots activists.
Looking at sustainability from a perspective other than economic,
it can be claimed that HURON will continue as an organisation as
long as the beneficiaries feel a need for it. It is only for the
implementation of certain activities that financial assistance
needs to be sought.
