Sustainability

DWO is using the following means to ensure the sustainability of the organisation and its activities:

  • open membership
  • community members who can afford support the basic need of food and shelter for volunteers and in some cases they also make contributions towards the travel cost of volunteers
  • organising cultural events for fund raising
  • ensuring that the organisation is run in a cost effective way

Looking at sustainability from a perspective other than economic, it can be claimed that DWO will continue as an organisation as long as the beneficiaries feel a need for it.  It is only for the implementation of certain activities that financial assistance needs to be sought.
