Common Vision for the Partnership
The vision of DWO is a just society in which downtrodden Dalit
people will be able to participate fully in government bodies,
decision making bodies, public values and policies and are also
able to share the joy of equality and freedom.
MS Nepal (the Nepal branch of the Danish Association for
International Co-operation) was established in 1986 and currently
works in partnership with 23 local non-governmental and community
based organizations. MS Nepal aims to support development in Nepal
through partnerships with like-minded organizations that involves
people's participation.
MS Nepal's vision is to hope for development and change processes
in Nepal, which is both participatory and aiming at, mainly for
and by people, by mobilizing their potentials. MS Nepal also hopes
to increase the ability of, especially disadvantaged people to
cope with the national and international political and market
turbulence. MS also hopes for a situation where the high cultural
diversity of Nepal is maintained and valued by all, and where
there is mutual respect, empathy among cultures, ethnic groups,
castes and communities.
Based on a common vision and objectives DWO and MS Nepal have
agreed to work together on some activities for an initial one-year
period, which is defined as an early partnership period. During
this early partnership it is expected that the two organizations
will have the opportunity to get to know in "practice" what the
"verbal" vision, mission and goals of the respective organizations
mean. It will also give both organizations a basis for forming a
long-term partnership if both organizations agree on extending the
early partnership to a longer commitment.
